The majority of accidents are attributed to employees who are not well trained. Employers are responsible for making sure that staff who are using the forklift are trained in safety and risks. Never let anyone on a forklift who isn't trained to operate the forklift. Your business must develop and post in a place that is visible all forklift safety procedures.
Staff should have a positive attitude when they go through training, rather than doing it just because they are required to. You as the employer must help staff understand the significance of proper training. Let them know that they could injure or kill not just themselves, but other individuals, if they make mistakes. It is up to you to ensure that your staff undertake training seriously.
