Reach Truck
To be able to keep storage areas orderly and to store pallets of goods and supplies, a reach truck can be utilized. The reach truck is available in quite a few kinds: the double-deep reach, straddle reach and the stand-up reach.
The simplest type is the stand-up. The forks of the truck slide under the pallet and move it to the right storage place. The forks slide the pallet into place. This particular kind of reach truck is recommended when shelving units are just one pallet deep.
The double-deep reach truck is similar to the stand-up, but is best for workplaces where shelving units are deep enough to have two pallets of goods. This version has telescopic forks intended to place the pallet at the rear of the shelving unit. This eliminates the need to push the pallet back when another pallet should go into the same shelving section.
The added advantage of straddle reaches is that they can both slide beneath the pallet and grasp the sides also. These are suitable for workplaces where shelving units are accessible in multiple directions. This particular model is ideal in situations where goods will not be damaged if the pallet sides are grabbed.
Within nearly all warehouses, there are usually more than one type of reach truck. Manufacturing facilities and textile firms use various kinds of reach trucks in their supply areas. The reach truck is not hard to utilize and can maximize available storage space while increasing productivity.
