During 1966, Bud Bushnell established Genie Industries. During that time, he purchased the manufacturing rights to a material lift that functioned on compressed air. The name Genie came from the "magic in the bottle" that was used to lower and raise the hoist. This device greatly impressed lots of clients and hence, the name was established.
Genie expanded operations and established itself into various new markets, because the demand for platforms and work lifts grew. Over time, as the demand for new equipment to meet numerous applications grew, the company made itself known in numerous new markets. For example, Genie went into production with light towers, man-lifts, articulated booms, stick booms and telehandlers.
Due to the economic slump in the beginning of the 2000s, Genie decided to secure a partner who had the same values. They partnered up together with Terex Corporation. This company has a history obtaining machine manufacturers across the world who proved to be a good business match. Genie Industries was sold during 2002 and became a part of Terex Corporation.
In the initial years after the sale, it was determined to maintain the Genie brand name within the Terex Aerial Work Platforms or AWP segment of Terex, because of the name's solid reputation in the marketplace. Hence, all Genie machinery continue to be marketed under the Genie brand.
The company takes great pride in listening and taking advise from their clients. Genie has always been continually dedicated to improving the efficiency and quality in addition to lessening wastes. Even long after the sale has been closed, the company concentrates on offering outstanding support. These are the very work disciplines which have made Genie a trusted brand over the last decades and continue to keep their reputation for quality and top-of-the-line machines.
Genie's Bi-Energy and DC equipment are emission-free, quiet machinery capable of working in delicate work environments. Where the machinery should be driven significant distances, such as within industrial situations, the Genie bi-energy system combines the advantages of a 48V DC machinery together with the power of a diesel-powered generator.
Compared to any of the different kinds of aerial platforms, telescopic booms offer more horizontal reach overall. These equipment are great for limited access places in construction and other industrial settings. The Genie Telescopic S booms have been engineered to offer utmost productivity. These equipment provide the drive speed and supreme traction you need to be able to travel around the work site and job area.
