Caterpillar Pneumatic Tire Forklifts Houston

Caterpillar Pneumatic Tire Forklifts Houston

Utilize a Pneumatic Forklift

Pneumatic forklifts are common in shipping and warehouse operations. Also called pump trucks or pallet trucks, they are used in order to transport supplies and things around on wooden pallets utilizing metal forks which are mounted on a wheeled counterweight. The counterweight contains a pump which lifts the forks off the ground. A pallet truck is designed to be operated by a single person.

To prevent loosing control while lifting heavy loads, pallet trucks should always be operated with care. Machine should be inspected prior to operating. Clear the wheels area of any obstructions. Make sure that the handle smoothly turns. The pallet must be stacked carefully to be able to guarantee that nothing would fall off during transportation.

To lower the forks and release air in the pump, squeeze the lever located on the inside of the metal loop on the end of the pallet truck's handle. The forks could then be pushed into the pallet slots. The forks must be centered to be able to ensure even distribution of the pallet's weight across them. Raise the forks from the ground by pumping the pneumatic lift's handle until the pallet has completely cleared the ground. Do not raise the pallet too high or the forklift can unbalance.

Pull on the handle and drag it behind you if you want to move the pallet. It is not safe to push the pallet in front of you since the momentum can cause it to lose control. Take turns slowly and don't attempt to stop abruptly. Stop slowly, squeeze the lever, and the forks will lower to the ground. Lastly, remove the forks from the pallet by pulling them out. Return the pallet truck to its permanent location.
