Change an LPG Cylinder
Forklifts are powered by various sources. They can run using gasoline, liquid propane or LP gas, battery or diesel. LP is a clean burning fuel ideal for various uses. There are several facilities that have large liquid propane supplies on site. This allows forklifts to be refueled anytime they require. In other places, the facility will have spare LP cylinders that could be changed out when the equipment should be refueled.
In order to avoid possible serious injury, specific precautions must be taken when changing out an LP cylinder. For example: be sure to put on the correct safety equipment like goggles or safety glasses and heavy gloves. Turn off the ignition of the forklift prior to changing out the tank. Next, close the cylinder valve by turning it until it is firmly closed. Utilize your hand to loosen the hose connection to the tank. Remember that it would turn in the opposite direction of a normal connection and never utilize any type of wrench or a metal tool on these connections. They are meant to be tightened just by utilizing the hand.
